"I have been attending camps my entire life. Every summer since I was little, I would get sent off to camp. I liked everything about camp. The games, activities, songs, and new friends was always fun. I looked forward to camp even though I wasn't attending the same one each year. It was always a new camp for a new summer. Before I knew it, camp started getting boring to me. It seemed like the same routine, until I went to Camp WorldLight. From that first day, I could tell that CampWorldLight was different from all the other camps I had attended. The counselors weren't just doing a job, they actually cared about each and every camper. I've noticed how they took the time to learn the Bible Study, instead of reading straight from a paper. When we had free time, we played games, instead of just sitting around and waiting for the next activity. There was never a dull moment and within that first day, Camp WorldLight became my absolute favorite place.
"I was bursting with excitement once I found out that I could go back to Camp WorldLight the next summer. I ended up going back every year after that. One summer, I had a counselor that was different from the rest. Through each and everything that we did at camp, I could tell she was giving her all for Christ. She went above and beyond in everything. She made sure that we had fun even at night when she read bedtime stories, tucked us in and prayed with us before we dozed off to sleep. She took every opportunity to tell us about God and His unconditional love for us. Because of her, I decided that I wanted to be a counselor. Not just a camp counselor, but a Camp WorldLight Counselor.
"When I was accepted to serve on staff at Camp WorldLight, it was a dream come true. My love for camp keeps growing every year. As the summers come and go, I constantly thank God for each new summer at Camp WorldLight. From being a camper to serving on staff, God's love is always shown throughout every aspect of Camp WorldLight. I am so blessed to be serving with an amazing group of women who give up their own summers to share God's love through Camp WorldLight."
